I have heard that people use human hair in their gardens to help keep pests away. Any thoughts on this? Does anyone do it, or know of reasons not to?
If it is a good idea: Any advice, e.g., how much to use, where/how to place it, etc?
Thanks in advance!

This is a common thought and I have no real experience, but the University of Nebraska Extension has a guy who has done a lot of experimentation on pest deterrents. He says this is a wives tale that doesn't work in any situation he has been able to determine. I know a beauty shop owner who used to put all the gathered hair around her gardens without much success. Others may have better results.
