Can Peppers Cross Pollinate?

Hey all.

My banana peppers are next to my jalapenos, and some of the banana peppers are pretty smokin' hot!
Is it possible for the jalapenos to have influenced the bananas?

That a big yes! But it shouldn't effect the peppers of that crop, it will effect the seeds and the peppers grown from those seeds. Are these Banana Peppers seeds you saved from last year? Have a good one.

This site gives a different slant on the question.
