Is mulching worth the trouble?

I've created the following video to discuss the advantages of mulching. I personally love to use it, Although I sometimes find it hard to find enough of it where I live. Some people think it is too much work. What are your thoughts on this?

Yes it is worth the trouble. It helps hold in moisture and cuts down on weeds. I don't have a lot of leaves to mulch. I know I can get a truckload of free mulch from the local tree trimmers and there are places with free mulch available. I use newspaper as mulch since I do have a ready supply of that and I don't have to worry about centipedes in the mulch.

And if it's an organic mulch, then there's the added benefit that you improve the soil and encourage soil activity - worms, microbes, such like. It's a total win-scenario using a mulch.
