Some of you may remember me planting them last Fall. I pushed them into the soil so the pointy end was even with the soil surface. Then I covered them with hay / horse manure. In the Spring and growing season I sprinkled in a little more hay.
I measured the mulch. The top of the bulbs were about 4" down.

Most of the bulbs pulled right out. Three were soft and the stems pulled off. I left those bulbs in the ground. Here is a picture of the undeveloped and one soft stem. Most of these came from the right side of the bed right along the aisle.

I did a quick clean-up of the bed and broadcast a salad seed mix over it. I hope I didn't just waste the seed. Will see.
