Pumpkin rot

Hi!

I'm a new member and am looking for some tips on my pumpkins! My pumpkins have grown rampantly this summer and I have been looking forward to my son having his very own pumpkin patch this fall! But when I checked the bottom of the pumpkins I found that they were rotting! Is my ground too moist? Am I overwatering? Should I be putting something underneath the pumpkins to lift them off the ground? What can I do?

Thank you so much!

Could be calcium deficiency, causing Blossom End Rot.

Could be, but I do think pumpkins tend to rot out where the sit on the ground, especially if the soil is moist (unrelated to BER). Lots of people put something under them to protect them from bugs and rot, like weed block fabric, waxed cardboard, or even a plate.
