Potting mix

I picked up a bucket of potting mix yesterday at the farmers market. My market neighbor does worms, lots of them. He sells the worm castings aka worm poo. A 5 gal bucket is $10 (and he gives me a break). Now he has mixed up a potting mix with worm stuff, dirt, compost etc. Same price. As I am shifting a few of the herb containers and putting in a few new basil starts, got a bucket. I figure also to use it in ground to work in the small area where plant goes.

We were talking and thinking ahead that this will be good stuff to work in the top few inches of the herb pots come spring. I like to work, clean, and freshen the pots when the new growth shows. Many of the herbs like things lean, but some good nutrients in the spring should be good.

Just wanted to share my thrill about my bucket of dirt!

hit or miss
