corn harvest

We picked shucked and skinned 300 ears of sweet silver queen corn yesterday, or as my pal Rootsy calls it , chicken and hog feed.

There is more left on the cob. The count is down a bit but the yield is up. We have enough to eat corn 3times a week for the next year plus feed our 25 member Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings.

We still have about another hundred ears that will be ready in a week or so.

Ethanol fuel will not hit my pocketbook once again.

Wow, your hard work despite the heat, etc. Is paying off!

MG, we are corn eating fools.

Applestar, I'll tell you a secret if you swear to take it to your grave. We had a labor negotiation [coin toss] and I called skinning. So my wife and her sister went out in the heat and picked and shucked.

I stayed in the nice air conditioned kitchen and skinned it all. I think that's the way the Bible said it should be done, you know, wimminz outside in the heat, menz in the air conditioned kitchen. I know I read somewhere in the old testament.
