compost

I am looking for black soldier fly s to start a compost bin if any boy can help me in finding some in S.A.

If your compost is primarily vegetative, a compost bin is unlikely to support a large colony of soldier-fly.

I've never been to Africa, so it IS possible I am mistaken. I still suspect though, that this is rather like organic gardeners with a new garden wishing for earth worms.

They will come, because there already exist in your biome a fly that fulfills that role is there already.

If you build it, they will come...

Yes, in my experience with doing a worm compost bin, if you build it the BSF's will come! I pulled at least a dozen BSF larvae out of my worm bin and got rid of them, but still a couple hatched out and have been around my house. Enough to discourage me from worm composting !!

(And it was only vegetable matter in the worm bin.)
