Huge pitch black slugs!

Ok roaming around the garden, or should I throw them out into the forest? ;)

Slugs are never good in the garden. Get rid of them, if you can hand pick them even better than using pesticides organic or chemical. If it were me I would squash them or feed them to the birds.

Sand or DE works well as a control method.

I never heard of black slugs and they sound pretty scary, so I looked it up.

Here's an article:

which suggests that they are not as bad a pest as regular slugs. While they do eat some of your garden produce, they also are waste recyclers.

Thanks for the info!
I looked them up as well, and apparently they are indigenous to the Pacific NW and Europe. I just didn't know if they were harmless to the garden or perhaps I should relocate them to a new home ;) I won't kill them, that's just me.
So off to the forest they go!
Thanks again!

 I guess I should have done my research. I stand corrected.
