late tomato blight and next years garden

Hi Everyone,
I'm pretty sure I had late blight on my tomatoes this year.My question is if the blight is in the soil can it be treated or is it best to leave it alone? Can I grow anything else in that space this coming year? The spot I planted tomatoes in this year was not planted with anything last year.
