herbicide resistance!

For some reason it had not occurred to me that just as bacteria adapt and develop resistance to antibiotics, weeds also adapt and develop resistance to antibiotics. "Herbicide resistance is the inherited ability of a plant to
survive a herbicide application to which the wild-type is susceptible." https://info.ag.uidaho.edu/pdf/pnw/pnw0437.pdf This article says that currently more than 300 weed types with resistance to one OR MORE herbicide types have been identified world wide.

In case anyone needed another reason not to use herbicides, here it is. Just like over-use of antibiotics creating antibiotic resistant bacteria, the more we use herbicides, the more we will be selecting for and breeding resistant weeds. Mother Nature always wins in the long run!
