Grayzone Herbicide Warning

I heard this on TV about Grayzon Herbcide. Farmers are putting Grayzon on hay fields to kill certain weeds. Farmers feed cows hay then Grayzon is in the manure and beef. If you buy bag manure, hay, straw, with Grayzon garden plants will grow good for about 6 weeks then plants die. Once you have Grayzon in your garden soil it stays for 10 years and kills garden plants every year. I don't know anything yet about eating beef that contains Grayzon.

Google search shows this.

Yes, this has been a problem grazon is a pasture herbicide to kill weeds that are toxic to horses and other animals. It does not affect the animals, but the herbicide persists for a long time and any manure, hay, or grass that has been sprayed and composted will be contaminated. Beans are particularly sensitive, so a simple test before buying compost would be to try to grow beans in a sample of the compost.

Better yet, make your own compost and if you buy compost have it tested or talk to the supplier and find out if any of the sources were sprayed with any herbicide.
