Gardenia dropped buds

I purchased a gardenia from a garden centre and shortly after I brought it home it started loosing the flower buds . I have a Sarrisa Bonsai,a cclomen, hanging wandering jews and they are all thriving in the same room. Any advice on what I need to do to get my gardenia to flower would be much appreciated

I'm not sure why that would happen, but I would check the roots. Does it have a healthy root system? If so, it could be overwatering. I'd just make sure it has good drainage and hit it with some slow-release fertilizer.

Thanks for the advice. I probably did overwater it because I think I
tend to overcare for my plants untill I get a feel forwhat they need. I will try doing whay you suggested and hopefully the plant will grow new buds and flower, it is still a really nice looking plant but the flowers smell so nice that it would be nice to see a couple bloom. Thanks again
