Murphy's Tumbleweed - Red Gel

I have inherited a small pot of his red gel, but it doesn't say what the active ingredient is.

It may be 12 years old or more.

A web search has left me no wiser.

Answers to any of the four questions below would be appreciated.

1. Is its use still allowed?

2. Does the product deteriorate over time?

3. And if not, how useful is it and for what weeds?

4. If I need to dispose of it, what is the safest way of doing so?

If it is that old, it probably has deteriorated over time. If the label is readable, keep it in its original container and check out your local hazardous waste disposal requirements.

My city has a hazardous waste collection scheduled every three months.

Tumbleweed is a trade name of the Scott company. Call the toll free number listed on the label and ask about stability and disposal.
