Can I plant creeping thyme in sand?

I made concrete cobblestones for my patio and filled in the spaces with sand. Is there any low growing ground cover that will grow in these spaces? :)

Yes, but it is better if you have a little bit of compost in the sand or it will dry out very fast. Creeping thyme needs to be stepped on so it lays flat or you will have to trim it. It has pink flowers.
