Burned holly leaves?

I have several different types of holly bushes and all of the new growth is completely black and shriveled after a recent frost. It looks as though they were burned by fire. I didn't think holly leaves were affected by a frost? Is this normal?

Holly is an evergreen that is susceptible to winter burn. Prune the dead leaves. The tree should recover.
