Taking care of Fittonias?

Hi,

I just started gardening and had just bought a new pot of Fittonia. They were spread so prettily when I took them home. But the next day, their leaves sorta closed up. What kinda of indication is this? And how do I know when they need repotting? Thanks.

Hi Ai,

I've never heard of a Fittonia doing that but I wonder if it could have been too dry or not enough light. They don't like to get too dry or they wilt.

To see if it needs a new pot look at the drainage holes on the bottom of the pot. If you see roots, it's time to repot in a 2" larger pot. This should be helpful.
