Tiny red & white things

I've-found-little-red-and-white-things-in-some-dirt-that-hadn't-had-anything-in-it-for-almost-a-year-now-except-for-weeds.When-I-touched-the-area-around-them-they-would-all-jump-up-and-hit-me-in-the-face.The-white-things-are-a-tad-larger-than-the-red-ones-but-they-are-both-extremely-small.Any-idea-what-they-are?Sorry-for-the-no-spaces-but-my-keyboard-is-acting-up-and-when-I-press-space-it-instead-does-enter.

Sounds like whitefly and spider mites. Better sterlise the soil and bleach wash the pots before reusing. Should kill any adults and eggs.
