need help to start my little garden!!!!

Hi everyone,

I am new on plants subject. A couple of years ago I move form South America to Costa Rica and we got an amazing house with a little patio and space for a garden. Just a few months ago I am working on my own business and have plenty of time to take care of the house, today I was checking the patio and almost all the plants are dead.

I really want to make it rite this time, I just have a basil plant lol.

How can I start?????
There is not much space but I want to take the best of it. please help.

What kind of garden are you looking to have? There are many different options and is really a matter of personal preference whether you want to have a spice garden or a fragrance garden to attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. Also how is the sun and shade ratio where you want to put this garden? How is the drainage? What kidn of soil do you have? Please let me know and I will help you narrow it down and give you some ideas.
