While watering my perennial garden today I noticed the plant Sedum"Autumn joy" just covered with honey bees.
The plants' blossoms are just barely opening up, a pale pinkish-purple color. I would have to investigate, but I wonder what UV pattern it gives off. Whatever the reason, bees seem to love it.
Anyone else notice bees attracted to this plant in massive quantities?

Yup! Somewhere I just posted about my sedum, but the search box isn't helping me find it.
So my sedum (a purple foliaged variety) is blooming now. It is swarmed with bees, bumblebees, but also lots of teeny tiny flies and other flying things.
Sedum is one of those things with lots of tiny nectar-bearing florets that are very attractive to a lot of beneficial insects, including braconid wasps (those are the ones that parasitize my tomato hornworms).
