Can you ID this plant?

Hello all, fairly new to this gardening lark but bumbling on as best I can. I've had a rather pretty but unusual plant show up in the garden over the last few weeks - I have no idea what it is but was hoping some kind soul out there with a bit of knowledge may be able to help.

Apologies for the standard of photography, it was getting dark! Initially I thought it may be some kind of fuchsia but now it's come into bloom I really don't know. The bud and outer petals are a very dark purple but in bloom it has bright white tips. As you can see the flower hangs downwards. This is the only plant of it's kind in my garden and I can't recall it flowering last year.

The way the bud joins the stem is most peculiar! If anyone knows more please get in touch

It is Aquilegia vulgaris "William Guiness" (Magpie) commonly known as Columbine. Someone near you is probably growing them.
They self seed quite readily and now you have one you will soon have many more. They come in a variety of colours and some are double. This one is one of the more beautiful ones in my opinion. If they self seed too close to the parent and you want to move them do it when they are still quite young.
