Free mulch.
The people who trim the trees around power poles will give you a truck load of their tree grindings for free. You will get a whole truck load, this should be enough for most yards. Some other private tree services sell the mulch or give it away, depending upon what they need to do with it.

Good idea. I have done that before for my Mom. Because the mulch was very green we did have to let it cure for a year before using it. Mom has an acre of land so that was no problem. The following year my baby sis did the same thing. She had several loads deliverd. With 5 acres she has lots of use for mulch and plenty of room to let it cure. I like free.
