query about the forum itself

erm... I was just wondering why there is no option to have an avatar by our usernames on this forum? It's not a problem I just think it might be a nice touch. :)

Hi,
Good question. The reason I didn't activate avatars was because I wanted to make sure the forum software worked at top speed. Adding the avatars, I believe, will slow it down. I didn't want the forum to slow down on account of avatars.

Nevertheless
Hey Scott, do you want to start a poll on this? It's not really my choice, but the choice of the community. If you guys want avatars, I'll make them active for you.

Never was a vote. Rog and I talked and we decided that we'd try it and as long as it didn't slow things down we'd keep it. Still here... 8)

Another concern I have about forum avatars:
When I visit other forums that allow avatars, the images distract me from the discussion. The visual clutter removes some emphasis from what is being discussed, and discussion, I think is the point of the forum, so anything that will promote discussion is fine with me.

Oh, I see. Well, my personal opinion is that we don't really need them at all in here but, that's just my opinion. I'm also very resistant to technology so, take my opinion as you will.
