sunflower trouble

Hi all,

I have two mammoth sunflowers that I just planted outside, it is about 4 to 5 inches tall. well it did fine in the pot it was green. But as soon as I planted it outside the leaves started to look a bit yellow and the leaves are starting to droop. I watered it but it doesn't look better. could it be too hot outside for it? Thank you all for your help.
Have a blessed day!!!

Did you harden it off, that is, take it outside to get it acclimated to the weather before you planted it?

How long has it been since you transplanted it out there? Sometimes when I transplant a plant it'll droop just after planting but I'll water it right away and it'll perk up the next day.

Yellow leaves though? Perhaps a nutrient deficient soil? *shrugs*
Maybe someone else may have a better idea why the leaves would be turning yellow.
