Raise pH easily, inexpensive..

Hey I just got done doing the readings on the pH for the soil my Tomatoes are in and it was 5!!! Does anyone have a quick and easy way to raise my pH maybe a point? A point and a half would be ideal...

Powdered limestone, $3 for 40 lbs at Lowes...or a whole lot of Tums tablets.

How much is a whole lot of Tums? Because I'm sure there is a toxicity point...

I so don't want to sound like I'm heckling. But I expect you'll run out of money before you buy 40 Pounds of Tums.

Crushed limestone is crushed limestone. Buy a (40 Lb) bag for your yard, apply some on the garden every other year, along with the rest of the yard. Get another PH test done about year 10.
