Monarch Butterflies

My mom has a friend who wants to plant some milkweed plants so that monarch butterflies can do their thing.

Does anybody know where I can find some good information on how to plant milkweed;where to plant it; etc... And also maybe some information on the Monarch Butterly?

Thank you

I sure do have some sites! :D I'm also including a list of preferred milkweeds.

Franco, you are so very welcome! If she's interested in other butterflies I have sites for larval food and nectar plants as well. Just lmk what state she's in.

We both live in New Jersey I'm not quite sure which zone and I'm not exactly where we are but I think we are north east NJ.

Franco, New Jersey has hardiness zones 5, 6 and 7. Most of NE New Jersey is zone 6. Here's a map.

This site lists butterfly plants, shrubs and trees but check the hardiness zones carefully as it's a Florida site.

I forgot to give you this site before. You can track the migration of the monarchs.

I also feed and track the migration of hummingbirds, swans and whooping cranes.
