How can i go about drying chile peppers. I had two chili's (ripe) and i hung both of them and one rotted but the other one didnt. I have a dehydrator if that can be put to use.
Dehydrators work. I just use the oven though, on the lowest setting. However, with peppers; your family will most likely be very unhappy with you.
What I do to asist the drying process is cut the pepper lengthwise and spread it out so that is lies flat. (strips work well). Then, lay the peppers out on a sheet of parchment paper on a cookie sheet (or just in your dehydrator) and dehydrate for about 12 to 18 hours.
hey have you ever pickled your peppers? this summer i planted way too many hot pepper plants and so i had a bunch left over that i dried. but i saw in a resaurant a jar of peppers so i thought wow! good idea!!
