Weed or Flower ID

Hi,
Can anyone please tell me if these two plants are just some kind of weed or flower. If a flower could you please provide a name. If a weed does it flower (End of August still no flowering)and would it be worthwhile to keep, since space is at a premium.

Just a wild guess here, but #1 looks like it might be mustard greens.

No. 2 looks a bit like some of the bitter greens I plant each year to use in salads. There are so many leaf lettuce and bitter green varieties it boggles the mind.
