From red to white?

Here is a picture of my red monarda last summer:

This is the SAME plant. :shock: I never bought a white monarda. Last year it was abundant and red and beautiful, and this year it's mangy and white. Any idea what could have caused this? :?

Is it possible that it could have self seeded and come up different to the parent plant?
