Did you notice the tiny white flowers in my three originally posted pics? It's mostly visable in the 2nd pic, and here's a new pic of it:

Unfortunately I don't have a close-up on the flower (yet). I've been searching the internet for possibilities, but nothing seems quite right.

I think you have creeping buttercup.
I found some in my lawn and searched --- first I found your post then I found

So, what do you think? because I have it too.

Sorry; the first link no longer exists, according to my computer, and the second is a screen of approx. 20 photos, most of which show people, not plants.

Can you try again with the photos?

I'm not at all sure, but from the leaf formation, and the fact that the flowers are bourn on a raceme, my guess would be some kind of berry. I'm not sure of which one, but not, I think, something as common as wild blackberry. Will you post more pics as the flowers develop?

As a starting place, you might want to look at Actea rubra, aka baneberry, but again, I'm not sure. The raceme on the plant in your pic seems to droop, rather than being held upright, so that would count against it being baneberry..

JoanAtHome, although the picture of your plant with the yellow flowers looks quite a bit like mine, one difference I noticed is that your flowers seem bigger ... relative to the leaves.

Re: my bonus question about the plant with the little white flowers

Do these pics help at all?

It may be a matter of waiting to see what develops. I keep wondering about blackcap raspberry too. I found another one not far from the house, so I'll keep an eye on it.
