Ants everywhere

I seem to have a problem with ants in my garden. Not only are they in the borders, they seem to be in the grass everywhere as well. I have finally managed to repel the ants from my house by dusting ant powder around cracks/patio etc, however the grass and borders seem to be infested.

Trying to find a nest is proving difficult as there are so many ants I cant track where they are coming from. They crawl up the garden furniture, they come in on your shoes when you have been out there. I am not sure what I can do.

Can anyone suggest a way of ridding my garden of them? Ideally I would like something I can just water all over the garden, as I cant seem to find the nests.

Thanks in advance

There is a thread on this either in Perrenials or Vegetable Gardening, I can't remember which. Anyway, it's two pages long and full of good ideas. :D

Cinnamon seemed to be the best method, ground cinnamon. Cheap from walmart.
