Can I cut down my dead bluebells???

Hi I am new to gardening forums.I was wondering if it is possible to cut the dead stems and foliage from my bluebells. They look awful and I would like to plant some more flowers in the border?
Hope someone can help

If the bluebells are spent, you can cut them back. I like foxgloves, marigolds, cosmos (these get a a little on the large size), daylilies (perennial), baby blue eyes, heather and so on for flowers.
