Beginner needs help in Italy

Ciao! I just moved to Italy and got a house (originally from Nebraska) and I decided to plant a nice big garden in my yard, to include tomatos. I got a bunch of seeds from the local garden shop some cosmos, snapdragons, Dianthus, Alyssum, and a bunch of different sunflowers. I tried to research online a little on how to plant my little pretties and everything I read said to start them before the last frost....my only problem is we've already had that here. Is it too late to plant them now? Will they still grow right? I have never grown anything before (my mom always grew them and I just pulled weeds) so I would greatly appreciate some advice from experts :D

Thanks!!

Jessica

I don't know what the weather is like where you live. If you have a long growing season, you can probably seed them directly into the ground. I have done that successfully where I live. :)

Thanks for the advice! I will try that this weekend :) Unfortunately my italian still needs improvement...I'm going to classes though so maybe I will try that out later!
The weather here is pretty perfect, its been in the 60's this week and I'm right at the base of the swiss alps, I included a view from my kitchen window :D.
So I think my soil here is really rich - its a very dark brown and comes up loosely and everything is EXTREMELY green. Everything stays pretty moist but not too wet -pretty much perfect here. Ill be sure to post pics of the flowers once they bloom!
Mind you these were taken in the dead of winter, but this first is the one from my kitchen, the next is from my living room and the last is some beautiful flowers my landlord gave me - which I have no idea what they are
