Eye Candy a thon! - Let's have a bit O fun ;)

So I was thinking this morning (I know ... -legasp- I might hurt myself if I keep this up lol) And I said to myself "Self" Because that's how I do things ;)

"self, You know your just DYING to tell every one at the HG all about your corn and green beans breaking ground but there's nothing special about that, Every one has sprouts and such right now... how about we play a little bitty game? That way you can sneak in your tid bit AND start something fun"

ROFL

Ok seriously... I thought we could play a game. Ever since I chimed in on another thread here and saw all the amazing photos other member's posted I thought Why not come up with a game we can play using our pictures? (AKA a good excuse to show off lol)

So here's the rules

Da Rules

1) I (as the game maker uper) will start the game with a picture of my own.

2) The first picture will be the starting point, as the second poster you will have the choice between 2 different way's you can play:
you may post a picture that belongs to YOU (this means no cheating with stolen flicks off the internet) of an item (flower, plant, item whatever) from your garden.

Here's where you get to decide where the game will go, so let's say I post a picture of a strawberry from my garden, and the second poster want's to play He/She would chose to either post a picture of a strawberry, or a picture of something red from their garden. Now let's say for sanity's sake the second poster posted a picture of a lady bug, the third poster would then be able to post a picture of a lady bug or their red roses. Who ever has the last picture is the winner!

Let's get creative Ladies and Gents! New and old pictures are welcome, so if you don't all ready have something to play with you can always snap a quick pic, but you better hurry! This game will change FAST!
And to get this party started....

Cherry blossom's - This was taken on Friday the 19th 2010 (my 27th birthday) pre dawn as I was too excited to sleep, looking forward to my party I had to keep my hand busy so I went out side to water and SURPRISE my first cherry blossoms EVER!

I hope it doesn't have to be a recent photo. The only thing white here right now is the remnants of snow. Which is funny, cause it is too hot for a jacket.

This is last summer:

Great pic! That honey bee looks MIGHTY happy! Nope doesn't have to be recent at all, just yours.

Now that my shift is over I'll leave you all to it and can't wait to see where the game has gone in the morning. 8)

Here's where well-organized iPhoto comes in handy -- though I must admit this is an older photo. Recent photos are still all jumbled together.

You may want to change the rules as it is we have white things or a flower, so here is a white flower.

This photo was taken on one of the roads I made through the woods at my place. White as a ghost! Ok I did do a little Photoshop to it.

OK, I'm a bit confused. Are you saying mine wasn't by the rules? An "insect (a wasp at that) on flowers (that look white to me, anyway)" doesn't extrapolate from OL's "honeybee with white flowers"?

No, hon, she didn't say that. After your photo, Tomf posted a legal one, then a fun one. And she is saying go back to his legal one right after your legal one. His legal one was a white flower, which I followed with a yellow flower.

Sorry Applestar.... I...erm... well I missed your post

It's positively fantastic!

And the daffodils are lovely Ozark Lady. I have a great corner of my yard that has lovely little yellow flowers... my step son recently realized he could chew said yellow flowers... I had to explain to him why they were yellow ;) But seeing as how they are weeds that pop up where dog's pee... I think I'll pass on posting a pic of them....

Also if every one else want's we can expand the photo's to any that you (as a contestant) own. Not just garden pics, vacation, road trips, ect. Let me know what you think.

P.S. Applestar - I am so jealous! I grow mint in my garden too but the snails and slugs eat it up before I can enjoy flowers... Every time I start to get frustrated I think "Well Id rather they eat the mint than the flowers or veggies"

Although this year it seems they are not happy with mint alone it seems....

:D Oh, that's OK then.
I just wanted to make sure. (Sorry if it sounded a bit petulant  )
By the way Mrs.GT, I don't want you to feel like you have to respond to every one -- you'll be here all day!

I've had to pick slugs off my mint last year too. The flowers are great for attracting insects, and they taste good in teas (as you might expect -- the bugs know what they're doing!) The mint leaves themselves are supposed to turn somewhat bitter after they start flowering, though. Letting the S&S's have some is one way to keep the mint from "taking over the world", however.

Applestar - I was wondering when someone would notice how often I respond lol. I work as a security guard for 10+ hours a day and my employer provides me with wifi as a pass time (10 hours a day 5 day's a week after 3 years get's to be a bit boring lol) So when I'm at work I honestly have nothing else to do BUT respond lol. I'll cut back if it will make things easier.

I think HG helps with my spring fever too. Being here, doing nothing, while my garden is growing and in need of my attention, and my mind is a buzz with ideas for project's in the garden is crazy making. At least I get to talk to people here that are just as nutty about their hobby as I am while I wait to run to the car and get home asap before the sun goes down and I can't get ANYTHING accomplished.

I had only figured out that you respond by day, and take evenings off! ha ha. She did say that she was going home in an earlier one.

I wouldn't worry about too many posts. I am in several forums, and the most boring thing in the world is to click on a forum and nothing new added! Soon, you just quit clicking on that forum, and soon you just remove the shortcut icon.

Since I joined this forum has never gotten boring!
I have learned alot and expanded my horizons. Of course, I don't agree with all posts, and some things, I simply won't try. But, it is interesting to see what other folks are doing.

I still don't wanna snow ski for instance... ha ha.

Ohhh ozarklady, it's like your peeking over my shoulder lol. I do the EXACT SAME THING. I find forums and sites I enjoy at first, then if the other people on the site don't update enough for me I'm gone! This is actually the first forum that has kept my attention for longer than a week.

Aaaaaand I did it again lol I responded RIGHT after the last response.... ok I swearz I will stop now ;)

This is a tree in our yard, I took it a few days ago.
Please every one post more pictures of gardens and flowers as I enjoy looking at them. As you can tell I love taking pictures also.
You know the first rule of flower photography? When you see that there is no wind and get your camera the wind starts.

Mrsgreenthumbs I grabbed your photo and made you into a flower for fun. I hope you like it. You can get and down load it at this link. I did not spend but a few moments doing it and the photo of you is very small so it is what it is.

I hope so Ozark Lady, Mrs Green comes off a some one nice so I did not think she would mind and enjoy it.

I forgot to say that this picture will only be up for a few days as your image is not mine; out of respect for you. If you want a better copy I would need a larger photo and you would have to PM me to get a place to send it to.

I will do a few for other people on this site but I only have time to do a few at most. PM me if you want some thing like this flower face. Each person will get their own flower.
