Green house

On the verge of buying my first geen house,can someone please advise polycarbonate or glass and what are the positives and negatives apart from the weight

The multiwall policarbonate (twin wall or triwall) will give you an insulating pocket of air. Even here in S.C. it costs me a good bit to heat my greenhouse that is attached to a barn, so has one insulated wall. Mine is about 10 feet by 28 feet and 12 feet at the peak. If you are only going to heat your greenhouse enough to keep inside above freezing, then the heating cost will not be too much of a factor. I keep mine above 60 degrees most of the time. Glass both looks and feels better than polycarbonate or film.

Make sure that you have a good bank of fans to blow the warm air back down from the peak. Also, if you wish I'll share my plan for circulating floor heat using an old gas water heater.
