Help! Can you identify this plant?

Can someone identify this plant that flourishes and spreads in the summer months, but remains alive and well (and green) all year long. Freaky! (The little white flower in the leaf closeup is actually from the ivy growing next to the plant.) It's actually a pretty leaf, but we are curious if it's a weed or something else.

That is Arum italicum. I have it in two places in my yard. I like it. If I recall correctly, all parts of the plant are poisonous, so you wouldn't want to eat it. :)
