Cactus and succulent Terrarium?

I have an old 3 foot aquarium that no one wants, I've been trying to sell it for ages. I recently saw the 'Wolverine Origins' movie, in one scene you see glass aquariums with cacti in there. It really appealed to me, see cacti and succulent species fascinate me.

I would like to make one but not sure on a couple of things, I cant find much information on making a terrarium for cacti.

Cacti I would imagine need very intense light but being in a closed terrarium, it may get very hot and possibly damage the plant? Also fungal infection? I live in a very dry place humidity wise, so I'm not it would be a problem?

-What substrate?
-Different layers?
-What lighting? I have and aquarium light but I don't think its the full spectrum...
-Care, watering, fertilizing etc...
-Good cactus species?

Any help much appreciated! :-D

According to the article at this link https://cactiguide.com/article/?article=article19.php , making a terrarium will not work. Plants in it will die because they cannot receive the necessary conditions to live, in glass.
