I never really thought about this before, but what's the difference between potting soil and regular soil?
Also is potting soil strictly for starting seedlings or is it also for indoor/container plants that are already established?
I guess it's a dumb question, but it just popped into my head that maybe 99% of my issues with gardening have been that I'm not using the right stuff (since the packaging is somewhat vague most times)
And now that they make special blends for different things, I'm all the more confused...

There are many types of potting MIXES; don't just grab one off the shelf--it may be for acid-loving plants, which vegetables are not.
