the good and the bad

some of the manure in the pile at least 8 years old, no smell to it at all, and is quite black, from what I heard if it has no smell it is good to use. some of the dirt in parts of the gardens have been dug up into a pile and then had the manure placed into it. Under the soil it should hold water quite good which is needed this summer since they're may be a possibility of drought happening cause of the low amount of snow during the winter. right now I am wondering if the roots of plants will dig down into the manure when they find it. we even have some black earth under the manure pile where the dirt has absorbed a lot of nutrients over the years.

right now the plans on expanding some gardens is going on, the hosta territory needs to gain some more land since the various types are too crowded, some crab apples have been moved to the "temperary garden" which is a part of the vegetable garden, which has been expanded to plant around 100 irises since we couldn't think of where to put them, so many -.-. the crab apple seems to have only bloomed on one side which is facing away from the property it is basically a bush ever since part of the top was cut of so instead of growing high it grew wide, which looks a lot better in my opinion. another garden which is basicvally a temp one also has a good amount of plants, some of which we have no clue what they are now.

one the property they're are at least 15 ant nests (2 acre area). my dad has some poison to get rid of them which he plans to use...some day (bought it two years ago I believe) although he keeps talking about a certain type of chemical that is in america that makes the ants hallucinate and kill each other which he would like to get but thinks it would never get across the border if he bought it online...if it even exists that is. 2 days ago some rhubarb leaves wer boiled up to use on some plants to get rid of some annoying caterpillars, tent caterpillars that are on my apple trees each years "pest problem on pei" the trees are probably at least 4-5 years old now and have not bloomed yet, they are a dwarfe macintosh and a dwarfe red delicious. so far the only thing that ha been done with the caterpillars on the property is when a high population on a branch is found it it cut of and burned. I am wondering if the rhubarb liquid will help in any way, it was used on ants but the liquid was still to warm so the ants died immediatly from the heat of the water.

so much nonsense that hopefully makes at least the littlest of sense :|
