Eventful day. What did everyone do?

Forgive me for being over-excited about my achievements but I am still new to this and get happy about even the smallest steps forward! I got home from work at about 10:30pm and went outside to do some more moonlight gardening. 8) I have been working on weeding the flower bed areas along the sidewalk in my front yard. Last night I did the one side and tonight I did the other side. The side that I did tonight was becomining completely overrun by not only dandilions but GRASS. Well, I solved most of the problem by removing the landscaping bricks along the sidewalk and completely pulling up these long chunks of grass that were growing up between the sidewalk and the bricks. Never saw anything like it. Lol. Took me a little longer than I would have liked to get the whole side done but it looks great.

I also took out the puzzle piece shaped landscaping bricks that were surrounding these two squares of lawn in the corners of the sidewalks Decided that we were going to do away with those because they used to have bushes but the bushes are dead. So I am taking those bricks to the back yard for later use. I don't know what to do with the area now though because there's a ton of landscaping rock in the grassy areas. What's the best way to remove this? A rake? Shovel isn't going to work. Do it by hand? Kind of tedious but it could be done. I want to let the grass grow there so I have to remove the rocks somehow.

Anyway, that's what I did today... after work. What did everyone else do? Tomorrow I am laying down the top soil under and aroung my fence where the neighbor's dog dug it up... the neighbor is MOVING OUT tomorrow and so now I can fill in the holes and know they will stay filled in. Also going to be tackling the junk pile, putting down the landscaping bricks around the tree in the backyard, moving the rocks from around the patio and replacing them with mulch and putting the rocks around the tree. That'll about take care of my day! :) Maybe I'll get lucky and not have time to do laundry.

WOW - you sure are ambitious with your projects in a day (or night!).
Your yard must be shaping up pretty quick with all that :)

After work, I put our new patio set together, and we had dinner out there. Quite nice.

And a new stray dog showed up. (me = dog magnet). She's a hound mix of some kind, really sweet, really skinny! So at least I had some fresh chicken broth to mix with kibble (lucky I even HAD any, my dogs eat raw meat) and an old dog bed for her to sleep on.

And then I went back to work until about midnight!

Aww Grey it sounds like you have a new buddy! I really love dogs and have a Siberian Huskie myself. :) Are you going to keep the dog? What kind of dog is it?

What does your new patio set look like? Part of my motivation to do so much work in the yard is that now that I have my deck and patio cleaned up, I want to get a Patio set so that I can spend time outside besides tending to the yard. I want my yard to look nice so that I can have friends and family over and be able to enjoy my yard instead of be embarrassed of it! I really want to get a nice patio set so that I can have my Grandparents over. My Grandmom has kind of a hard time getting around (she had double kneed replacement surgery about six years ago) and it is hard for her to get up and down steps. But I thought that since there are only two steps onto the deck and NO steps out to my backyard onto the patio, that having my Grandparents over for a cook-out or something would be so easy on Grandma if we could entertain easily in the backyard!

I would love to see what your patio set looks like if you have pictures of it. I really enjoy seeing everyone's yards and gardens, etc. I will post some pictures of my yard tonight when I get done working. I just laid down some seed&feed stuff that my neighbor gave me, sprayed off my sidewalks (which were SO dirty from me digging in the dirt last night digging up weeds) and moving my bench that was in the front yard. It is moving to the back yard onto the patio I think. Waiting for the gas/electric guy to get done changing the meter so that I can finish up everything! It's my only day off this week so I have a lot of stuff to get done.

I'm more of a cat person myself but, I LOVE HUSKIES and Huskiesque dogs.

Congratulations on all your hard work.
