Oak saplings

Having recently cleared some ground I came across two oak saplings. I had an idea to grow them in pots for my two sons to keep and carry forwards as a reminder of me. I then thought how much easier it would be for them if I could grow them into bonsais. So some advice would be good. At the moment they are about 4 inch's and I have them in 5 inch plastic pots. Many thanks in advance.
