Please Help

My son and husband purchased a tree about 3.5 years ago.
I am amazed it is still alive. I know it has got to have some care given to it but I do not know where to start.
Going to include a picture.
They purchased this from some Asian man with a truck on the side of the road. He had a table with these trees different sizes and shapes and of course different amounts.
Please Please help I have called a couple of flower shops and frankly they are amazed it is still alive.
But it is. And it is growing.

What exit are you from?

Heard that one? (I used to live in Hackettstown...)

Need to have your photos on the web somewhere (I use photobucket.com; it's free) post the url to the site and there you go! Some folks embed them in the code which I still have to learn to do myself, but this will work...

If the tree is alive, keep watering, post a photo and we'll go from there. Probably going to need repotting; look over the articles on the site...

Ah the Japanese garden juniper Juniperus procumbens 'Nana'. And doing quite nicely too.

Rather than pruning, finger tip pinching that new growth will not leave the brown cut marks that scissors will. Repotting can definitely wait until next spring, and even then only a slightly largert pot...
