think my bonsai is dying

Hey, I received a Taxodium distichum for my birthday every thing was going great until last week Thursday I got home and its leaves had shrunked and are crunchy.
I water it twice a day because as its summer here in Portugal and I live in a really hot and dry area were the temperature has been in between 29-39ºC this past week. Since Thursday I've carried on watering it and have started to mist the leaves about 3 times a day.
I cant understand what happened is there anything I can do? because the leaves are still green they just really crunchy.

Bald cypress is bottomland plant that can live in the deep south,

In order for its rather soft needles to be "crunchy" it had to totally dry out. I think you tree may be dead.

Thank you for the help will see what happens because some of the leaves have started to open, so hopefully there is still some hope. I also pruned it to take the leaves that were looking really died off so it uses its energy on the ones that seem like they might just make it
