Diatomacious Earth

Tue Jan 08, 2008 2:27 am

I am planning to replant my ficus and palm in Napa oil spill cleaner. It is 100% diatomacious earth and I got the tip from some website. I have heard that hobbyists in the UK are using Cat little that is also this same material, although no cat litter like that seems to exist across the sea.

I was just wondering if anyone here uses this as soil? Also should I use it by itself or mix it in with another soil ingredient?

nailsrglue,

A couple of our members are using this material.

Also take a look at this.

Hopefully alisios and/or Burner will see this and chime in.

Heya - I plan on using a combination of DE and other elements- I'm waiting for another month or so before I begin to repot some things - so I haven't had the chance to really test it.

I have a good feeling about it though and I'll keep you posted!
