Bonsai vs heat from fireplace!!! HELP!

Changing of seasons here in Colorado. I have/had a very happy little Bonsai whom I've been friends with and caregiving for years now. While I was out, my wonderful boyfriend made the first fire of the year.....and he did not move little Bonsai which was in the window a few feet away. I came home to its poor leaves curling from the heat. Over the next three days all of his leaves fell off. I love this Bonsai - do I prune? Is he ...(gulp) dead? I would sure appreciate any advice.....Thank you.

welcome to the forum, fellow Coloradan. I think only time will tell if your plant will pull through. It looks like a fig, which are pretty good at bouncing back from abuse, so it should be fine. I wouldn't take any actions except make sure you don't overwater, since without leaves your bonsai will not be using much. And keep it well away from heat sources.
Good luck, and keep us updated on your plants progress.
