Ficus gingseng help

I got a ficus gingseng about a month ago and have it indoors. However it is losing its leaves. The leaves are turning yellow, brown and black and falling off. Even some healthy leaves are falling. It is now looking very bare. I have noticed when I move the soil that sometimes I can see bugs. They are small and look black. I don't see them on the leaves but some leaves do have brown spots. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks

Can you describe the soil? Is it dense and peaty or loose and gritty? Also, describe your watering practices. How is it located, WRT light. The more information you provide the better we may be able to help.
