the wait after repotting

what is a good wait peoriod after repotting a plant so that the roots have a good hold in the soil?

Waiting period for what? And what kind of tree/pot or such are you speaking of. Lots more 'info' needed :)

What is it exactly you want to do? [Post re-potting]

We need to know that before we can give any sort of a time frame to work with. Fukiens have a reputation for being a bit difficult to keep happy.
