I am relatively new to bonsai care and have read a lot about required dormancy periods for all species of deciduous and coniferous bonsai, save tropicals.
I have a Japanese orange bonsai and was wondering if it would be considering a tropical.
If not, how would I go about inducing dormancy indoors (the temperature in my area drops far too low for my tree to survive outside).
Thanks.

I am not sure what species you mean precisely...but most 'oranges' have no hardcore (or genetic) dormancy needs They do fine without any 'rest'. Unless you know specifically what species for better consideration, I would not worry about it for this reason...
Possibly someone else knows what you speak of, but googling the 'name' you gave brought up nothing obvious for dormancy considerations, IMO...
Hope this is accurate enough for you at this point....
