I keep my scheffleras soil atleast damp
but leaves are falling could it be due to not enough sun, too much or too little water
any comments, or advice?

The scheff really dosn't need sun at all. It will do just fine in indirect light.
You could have a few sun burnt leaves. Allow the soil to dry to about an inch before watering. If you moved the plant, it will drop some leaves while it gets used to a new position. It's a tough little tree, so give it some time..
