these are the pictures of the two plants the I have gotten from my back yard.do you think I could keep these plants alive an turn them into bonsai trees also are these maple plants and what are ways that you would aproach keeping these plants alive and how would you make them good bonsai for training. thankyou very much I am looking for ward to hearing your answer.

Look for larger specimens that can be collected or pruned down next spring, not both the same year. You have to get over the misconception that you grow bonsai up. It can be done but it takes many years. Small bonsai do not become large bonsai.
This is one of the most important lessons to learn early on. Look for better material.

Yes they look like Maples to me, not sure which species though.are these maple plants
I have my doubts, there are so little roots present that you will be lucky to have them survive the winter. Why did you dig them now?I could keep these plants alive
